Attention! Don't Buy Schwinn 420 Elliptical Until You Read This Review

!±8± Attention! Don't Buy Schwinn 420 Elliptical Until You Read This Review

The Schwinn 420 elliptical trainer is a relatively new type of product. When I was young, the most common indoor exercise equipment was the treadmill which made a lot of noise no matter how much you lubricated it. Elliptical trainers are today sought after by many people simply because they offer a complete cardiovascular workout by nearly toning every muscle in the body and yet at the same time, induce less levels of fatigue than a treadmill.

Schwinn 420 Elliptical was the best choice for me:

All these advantages were enough reasons for me to consider purchasing an elliptical. I visited various gyms, my friends and many of my relatives to see what type of elliptical they have. I then did some research on the Internet and finally decided that the Schwinn 420 elliptical might be good choice. It was delivered to our doorstep in a matter of few days and the delivery man also helped me to move it inside the house. Mind you, this is a very heavy piece of equipment. Assembling the entire contraption was relatively straightforward with no troubles worth mentioning.

I then used a WD40 lubricant on the moving parts and then did a trial run. I was truly impressed by the Schwinn 420 elliptical quietness. No matter how much I exercised, there were no squeaking sounds from anywhere. At the same time the base of the machine felt stable and had almost no wobbling. I however, am not impressed with the console display that this machine has. It is hard to read especially for an old person like me. To top it all it doesn't even have a backlight. The stride length of this thing however was well suited to me. While exercising on the Schwinn 420 elliptical, I never felt that my back or hands were being stretched. Another niggle that this machine has is that you can set only one custom preset, the rest of the people will have to access this machine in "guest mode" and enter the parameters all over again.

Why you should buy Schwinn 420 Elliptical:

If you want to enjoy a good cardiovascular workout on an elliptical that is not overpriced, the Schwinn 420 elliptical is the right piece of equipment for you. Working on it feels great, the preset programs are good enough for me and the best part of it all is that it has not given me any more troubles whatsoever. I would definitely recommend the Schwinn 420 elliptical to everybody and give it a 4.5 on a scale of 5.

Elliptical trainers provide an effective cardiovascular workout that combines upper and lower body flexibility and coordination into one impact-free motion. By emulating the natural motion of your foot while supporting your heel throughout the stride, elliptical trainers are much easier on your knees and joints. In addition to feeling more natural while working out, regular use on ellipticals will increase heart and lung capacity while improving your health (and burning calories at the same time).

In addition to accommodating a wide variety of users with its lengthened 18 inch/46 centimeter stride, the Schwinn 418 Elliptical Trainer also incorporates an articulating footplate, which follows the natural motion of your foot and supports your heel throughout the entire stride motion. Additional features of Schwinn's 418 Elliptical Trainer include a grip heart-rate monitoring and a high-inertia drive system using an oversized flywheel and Poly V-belt. The quiet magnetic resistance Eddy Current Brake provides a smooth ride. The more than ten workout programs include: rolling, valley, fat burn, ramp, plateau, intervals, mountain, heart rate, and manual mode. An LCD display shows time, speed, distance, revolutions per minute, resistance level, calories and calories per hour, load, and heart rate and course profile.

About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.

Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

  • Elliptical trainer with smooth and quiet magnetic resistance system
  • Includes 12 workout programs and 8 computer-controlled levels
  • LCD display tracks time, speed, distance, RPM, level, calories, and more
  • Oversized pedals with 18-inch stride length; 275-pound capacity
